This disclaimer explains what the content on Quran Universe is, and what it is not. By using the site you accept it.
Verse cards are reflections, not rulings
Each verse card is a short, simplified reflection that explains the setting of a verse, how its message can apply in daily life, and one small practical step. Cards are written to stay faithful to the plain meaning of the verse and to mainstream classical commentary, but they are a summary, not a complete explanation.
The cards, guides and any other content on Quran Universe are not religious rulings (fatwas) and are not a substitute for learning from qualified scholars. For questions of Islamic law, worship or your personal circumstances, please consult a qualified scholar.
Translations are not the Quran itself
Muslims consider the Quran to be the Arabic text. Any English translation, including the Sahih International translation shown on this site, is an interpretation of the meaning and cannot capture the original fully. Where a translation and the Arabic appear to differ, the Arabic and the explanations of scholars take precedence.
Tafsir and surah introductions
Tafsir Ibn Kathir and the surah introductions are shown as published by their translators and editors. They reflect the views of their authors. Some passages discuss narrations whose authenticity is debated among scholars.
Accuracy
We work hard to keep every page accurate, and we correct mistakes as soon as we learn about them. Even so, we cannot guarantee that every page is free of errors. If you find one, please tell us.
Guides about Islam
The articles in the Learn section describe mainstream Islamic belief and practice in plain English. Where Muslim scholars hold different views, we try to say so. Articles that compare Islam with other religions are descriptive and are written with respect for all faiths.
