After the story of a people who had a Book and drifted, Allah praises His own Book, the Quran. Ibn Kathir says it directs people to the best and clearest of ways, and brings good news to those who believe and act according to it.

You have five apps for productivity, three podcasts on how to live, and a stack of self-help books half read. You keep looking for the straight road. The most upright way is already on your shelf. It works when you do what it says.

I need to find the right advice somewhere out there.

The Quran already points to the straightest path, if I walk it.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir

Verily, this Qur'an guides to that which is most just and right and gives good news to those who believe, those who do righteous deeds, that they will have a great reward (Paradise)(9)And that those who do not believe in the Hereafter, for them We have prepared a painful torment (Hell)(10)

Praising the Qur'an

Allah praises His noble Book, the Qur'an, which He revealed to His Messenger Muhammad ﷺ. It directs people to the best and clearest of ways.

(gives good news to those who believe,) in it

(those who do righteous deeds,) in accordance with it, telling them

(that they will have a great reward,) i.e., on the Day of Resurrection. And He tells

(those who do not believe in the Hereafter,) that

(for them is a painful torment,) i.e. on the Day of Resurrection. As Allah says:

(...then announce to them a painful torment.)[84:24]
