And as for those who believed and did righteous deeds, He will give them in full their rewards and grant them extra from His bounty. But as for those who disdained and were arrogant, He will punish them with a painful punishment, and they will not find for themselves besides Allah any protector or helper.

Full reward, and then more from His bounty.

Two outcomes on the Day of gathering

Two outcomes
believed and did good
receive
full rewardplus extra bounty
the proudno protector, no helper
What Allah gives
exactly what I earneda strict wage
more than earnedfrom His bounty

Ibn Kathir explains that after gathering everyone, Allah will judge with justice that is never wrong. The believers who did good will get their full reward and more, from His kindness and ample mercy. Those who refused to worship out of arrogance will find no protector besides Him.

You worry that your good deeds are too small to count. The rushed prayers, the little charity, the half-read Quran. Allah does not just pay what is owed. He adds extra. The verse invites you to offer what you can, and trust His generosity with the rest.

My good deeds are too small to earn anything real.

Allah gives in full and then adds more, so nothing sincere is too small.

Try this

Do one good deed today and ask Allah to accept it and multiply it.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir (shared passage from 4:172)

Al-Masih will never be too proud to be a servant of Allah, nor the angels who are the near (to Allah). And whosoever rejects His worship and is proud, then He will gather them all together unto Himself (172)So, as for those who believed and did deeds of righteousness, He will give them their (due) rewards and more out of His bounty. But as for those who refused His worship and were proud, He will punish them with a painful torment. And they will not find for themselves besides Allah any protector or helper (173)

The Prophets and Angels Are Never too Proud to Worship Allah

Ibn Abi Hatim recorded that Ibn 'Abbas said that, 'proud', means insolent. Qatadah said that,

(Al-Masih will never be too proud to be a servant of Allah nor the angels who are near (to Allah).)

[they] will never be arrogant, Allah then said,

(And whosoever rejects His worship and is proud, then He will gather them all together unto Himself.) on the Day of Resurrection. Then, Allah will judge between them with His just judgment that is never unjust or wrong.

(So, as for those who believed and did deeds of righteousness, He will give their (due) rewards, and more out of His bounty.) Allah will award them their full rewards for their righteous actions and will give them more of His bounty, kindness, ample mercy and favor.

(But as for those who refused His worship and were proud,) out of arrogance, they refused to obey and worship Him,

(He will punish them with a painful torment. And they will not find for themselves besides Allah any protector or helper.) In another Ayah, Allah said,

(Verily! Those who scorn My worship, they will surely enter Hell in humiliation,)[40:60] degradation, disgrace and dishonor, for they were arrogant and rebellious.
