That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you, [O Muhammad]. You knew it not, neither you nor your people, before this. So be patient; indeed, the [best] outcome is for the righteous.

You did not know this story. So be patient.

Nuh's story told to strengthen the Prophet ﷺ

Why the story was told
news of the unseenrevealed to you
not known beforeby you or your people
so
be patientwith their rejection
the good endfor the mindful
What the ending depends on
who is winning nowthe loud and many
taqwathe end belongs to it

Allah tells the Prophet ﷺ that this story was news of the unseen; neither he nor his people knew it before, so no one could say he learned it from them. He is told to be patient with his people's rejection and harm. The good end is for those with taqwa.

You are the only one at work who will not fudge the numbers. You are the sibling who keeps the peace while others gossip. It feels like losing. The story is not over. Nuh's story is told so you keep going.

If doing right is costing me now, maybe it is not worth it.

Patience is worth it, because the final outcome belongs to the mindful.

Try this

Pick one right choice that has been costing you, and keep it one more day with the words: the end is for taqwa.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir

This is of the news of the Unseen which We reveal unto you; neither you nor your people knew it before this. So be patient. Surely, the (good) end is for those who have Taqwa (49)

The Explanation of These Stories is a Proof of the Revelation of Allah to His Messenger (ﷺ)

Allah, the Exalted, says to His Prophet ﷺ concerning these stories and their like,

(of the news of the Unseen) from the information of the unseen of the past. Allah revealed it to you (the Prophet ﷺ) in the way that it occurred, as if he witnessed it himself.

(which We reveal unto you;) This means, "We teach it to you (Muhammad) as revelation from Us to you."

(neither you nor your people knew it before this.) This means that neither you (Muhammad ﷺ) nor anyone of your people, have any knowledge of this. This is so that no one who rejects you can say that you learned it from him. Rather, it was Allah Who informed you of it in conformity with the true situation (of the story), just as the Books of the Prophets who were before you testify to. Therefore, you should be patient with the rejection of your people and their harming you. For verily, We shall help you and surround you with Our aid. Then, We will make the (good) end for you and those who follow you in this life and the Hereafter. This is what We did with the Messengers when We helped them against their enemies.

(Verily, We will indeed make victorious Our Messengers and those who believe.)[40:51] Allah also said,

(And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our servants, the Messengers, that they verily, would be made triumphant.)[37:171-172] Then, Allah says,

(So be patient. Surely, the (good) end is for those who have Taqwa.)
