Journey
The Dajjal, peace be upon him: the journey
Every prophet warned of him. He will bring rain, riches and a false paradise. One blow will end him.
1 The warning
Every prophet warned his people of one trial above the rest. The last Prophet ﷺ described it most clearly of all.
There was no prophet but that he warned his nation of the one-eyed liar. He is one-eyed, and your Lord is not one-eyed. Between his eyes is written: kafir.
Sahih al-Bukhari 7131
He is one of the great signs. When they come, faith that was put off will be too late.
…The Day that some of the signs of your Lord will come no soul will benefit from its faith as long as it had not believed before or had earned through its faith some good. …
Quran 6:158
2 The trial
He will appear on the road between Syria and Iraq, spreading ruin left and right. "O servants of Allah, hold firm."
Sahih Muslim 2937a, from al-Nawwas ibn Sam'an
He will stay forty days. One day like a year, one like a month, one like a week, the rest like your days. The Companions asked about prayer on the day like a year. The answer: measure out its times.
Sahih Muslim 2937a
He will order the sky, and it will rain. He will order the earth, and it will grow. Those who accept him will grow rich. Those who reject him will wake with nothing in their hands.
Sahih Muslim 2937a
He will bring what looks like water and what looks like fire. His water is fire. His fire is cool, sweet water.
Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, from Hudhayfah
He will tread every land except Makkah and Madinah. Angels will stand in rows at every pass, guarding them.
There is no land that the Dajjal will not tread except Makkah and Madinah. There is no pass leading to them but angels stand in rows guarding it.
Sahih al-Bukhari 1881
"Whoever of you meets him, let him recite over him the opening verses of Surah al-Kahf." Verses of young people who fled a tyrant, holding to their faith.
[Mention] when the youths retreated to the cave and said, "Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance."
Quran 18:10
Sahih Muslim 2937a
3 The end
Then Isa son of Maryam will descend by the white minaret east of Damascus, his hands on the wings of two angels.
Sahih Muslim 2937a
Isa will search for him, and find him at the gate of Ludd, and kill him.
Sahih Muslim 2937a
He will rely on wonders, and on hungry people's need. He will be undone by one man Allah sends back: Isa son of Maryam. Until then, the Prophet ﷺ taught us what to do.
When one of you finishes the last tashahhud, let him seek refuge with Allah from four things: the punishment of Hell, the punishment of the grave, the trials of life and death, and the evil of the false messiah.
Sahih Muslim, from Abu Hurayrah
