Right after naming Isma'il, Idris and Dhul-Kifl as patient, Allah says We admitted them to Our mercy. They were of the righteous. The same words were said of Lut a few verses earlier.

You hold your tongue through the in-law's comments for the hundredth time. It feels like it goes nowhere. Patience that is for Allah ends inside His mercy.

Being patient just means putting up with things.

Patience for Allah's sake is a road into His mercy.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir (shared passage from 21:85)

And (remember) Isma'il, Idris and Dhul-Kifl: All were from among the patient (85)And We admitted them to Our mercy. Verily, they were of the righteous (86)

Isma'il, Idris and Dhul-Kifl

Isma'il was the son of Ibrahim Al-Khalil, peace be upon them both. He has already been mentioned in Surah Maryam, where mention was also made of Idris. From the context and the fact that Dhul-Kifl is mentioned alongside Prophets, it appears that he was also a Prophet. Others say that he was a righteous man, a just king and a fair judge. Ibn Jarir refrained from making any decisive comment. And Allah knows best.
