He was given time. So the test is real.

Why the enemy is still around

The answer
AllahHis wisdom, His decree
grants
respiteIblis stays until the Day
What this means for me
the danger is overjust an old story
still at workso I stay alert

Allah granted what Iblis asked. The tafsir says this was out of His wisdom, His decision and decree, which none can resist. So the enemy who refused to bow is still here, until the Day of Resurrection.

The pull to scroll instead of pray. The whisper to say the harsh thing in the group chat. It is not random. Knowing the enemy was given time is what makes you careful with yours.

Bad urges are just random moods.

There is an enemy who was given time, so I use mine on purpose.

Try this

Notice one whisper today that pulls you away from good, and name it as his.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir (shared passage from 7:13)

(Allah) said: "(O Iblis) get down from this (Paradise), it is not for you to be arrogant here. Get out, for you are of those humiliated and disgraced. (13)(Iblis) said: "Allow me respite till the Day they are raised up (the Day of Resurrection). (14)(Allah) said: "You are of those respited.") Allah ordered Ibli (15)

فَاهْبِطْ مِنْهَا

(Get down from this) "because you defied My command and disobeyed Me. Get out, it is not for you to be arrogant here," in Paradise, according to the scholars of Tafsir. It could also refer to particular status which he held in the utmost highs. Allah said to Iblis,

فَاخْرُجْ إِنَّكَ مِنَ الصَّاغِرِينَ

(Get out, for you are of those humiliated and disgraced.) as just recompense for his ill intentions, by giving him the opposite of what he intended (arrogance). This is when the cursed one remembered and asked for respite until the Day of Judgment,

فَأَنظِرْنِي إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ - قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنظَرِينَ

(Then allow me respite till the Day they are raised up. (Allah) said: "Then you are of those respited.")[15:36-37]

Allah gave Shaytan what he asked for out of His wisdom, being His decision and decree, that is never prevented or resisted. Surely, none can avert His decision, and He is swift in reckoning.
