They plotted long before, and the truth came anyway.

Schemes that could not stop what Allah willed

A long history
early Madinahplots and turning things
after Badr

the schemers
Allahthough they hated it

Ibn Kathir explains that from the early days in Madinah, the hypocrites had plotted and turned matters upside down. After Badr, Abdullah bin Ubayy and his circle said this matter has prevailed and accepted Islam outwardly. Yet the truth came and Allah's command became clear, though they disliked it.

Someone at work has been undermining you for months, twisting what you say. It is exhausting. Do your work honestly and leave the outcome to Allah. Schemes look powerful up close.

If people plot against me, they will win.

Plots can delay and hurt, but they do not override what Allah decrees.

Make a short dua about someone working against you, then do your next task well and let it go.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir

Verily, they had plotted sedition before, and had upset matters for you, until the truth (victory) came and the decree of Allah became manifest though they hated it (48)

Allah encourages His Prophet ﷺ against hypocrites,

لَقَدِ ابْتَغَوُا الْفِتْنَةَ مِن قَبْلُ وَقَلَّبُوا لَكَ الْأُمُورَ

(Verily, they had plotted sedition before, and had upset matters for you,)

For a long time,' Allah says, hypocrites thought and plotted against you and your Companions, as well as, failing and attempting to extinguish your religion.' This occurred soon after the Prophet ﷺ migrated to Al-Madinah, when pagan Arabs joined force and the Jews and hypocrites of Al-Madinah waged war against the Messenger ﷺ. When Allah gave victory to the Prophet ﷺ in Badr and raised high his word, 'Abdullah bin Ubayy and his fellows said, "This (Islam) is a matter that has prevailed." They embraced Islam outwardly, and whenever Allah elevated Islam and its people in might, hypocrites increased in rage and disappointment,

حَتَّىٰ جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَظَهَرَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ وَهُمْ كَارِهُونَ

(until the truth (victory) came and the decree of Allah became manifest though they hated it.)
