Wait, and we are waiting too.
Calm waiting for how things end
The command continues: wait, we too are waiting. Ibn Kathir links it to the verse that the wrongdoers will not succeed. He says Allah fulfilled His promise to His Messenger ﷺ, helped him, and made His word uppermost.
You are waiting for the job offer, the test result, the reconciliation with a sibling. Waiting can eat you up. A believer's waiting is calm, because it is waiting on a promise from One who keeps His word.
Waiting means sitting in anxiety until things work out.
I can wait calmly, because I am waiting on Allah, who keeps His promises.
While you wait on something today, replace one anxious thought with: Allah keeps His promise.
