Munkar and Nakir, Questioners in the grave
The unseenQuestioners in the grave
Munkar and Nakirمنكر ونكير
Two angels who question each person in the grave about their Lord, religion and prophet.
When the dead are buried, two angels come and sit them up. They ask: Who is your Lord? What is your religion? Who is this man who was sent to you? The believer answers firmly. The Prophet ﷺ linked this moment to the verse about Allah keeping the believers firm with the firm word.
What does the Quran say?
Allah keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word, in worldly life and in the Hereafter. And Allah sends astray the wrongdoers. And Allah does what He wills.
Quran 14:27
What does the hadith say?
