In the hadithThe repentant murderer
The man who killed a hundredقاتل المئة
A killer of a hundred people who died walking toward repentance and was forgiven.
A man who had killed ninety-nine people asked a monk if he could repent. The monk said no, so he killed him too. A scholar told him yes, and to leave for a land of people who worship Allah. He died on the way. The angels of mercy and punishment disputed over him; the land was measured, and he was a little closer to the good town.
