Makkah
Left with her baby in an empty valley, her search for water gave the world Zamzam.
Ibrahim left Hajar and baby Ismail in the barren valley of Makkah with a bag of dates and a skin of water. She asked if Allah had commanded it; when he said yes, she said, "Then He will not abandon us." When the water ran out she ran seven times between Safa and Marwah, and the spring of Zamzam burst out.
