In the hadithTrust with Allah as witness
The man who lent a thousand dinarsصاحب الألف دينار
Two men took Allah as their only witness, and the sea delivered the debt.
A man of Bani Israil asked to borrow a thousand dinars. For witness and guarantor, he said Allah is enough. When the debt fell due he found no boat, so he sealed the money and a note in a hollow log and threw it into the sea. The lender, waiting on the shore, picked up the log for firewood and found his money.
