People of Nuhقوم نوح
The Quran gives no dateKufa, Iraq (traditional)
Nuh called his people to worship Allah alone for 950 years (29:14). Their leaders mocked the poor who followed him and clung to their idols Wadd, Suwa, Yaghuth, Ya'uq and Nasr (71:23). Only a few believed, and Allah told Nuh to build the ark.
What does the Quran say?
And We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them a thousand years minus fifty years, and the flood seized them while they were wrongdoers.

How did they end?
The Flood drowned the disbelievers, Nuh's own son among them, and the ark came to rest on al-Judi (11:42-44).
What do historians say?
Excavations at Ur, Kish and Shuruppak found flood layers, but from different dates, so they show local floods rather than one event. Mesopotamian poems such as Atrahasis and Gilgamesh also tell of a great flood.
The lesson
Numbers and status do not make people right: the few who believed were saved and the many were lost.
