Makkahمكة
The valley of the Kaaba, birthplace of the Prophet ﷺ and the direction of every Muslim prayer.
Ibrahim left Hajar and baby Ismail in this barren valley, and father and son later raised the Kaaba. The tribe of Jurhum settled by Zamzam, and Quraysh came to rule it. Muhammad ﷺ was born here, received the Quran in its hills, was driven out, and returned in 630 to clear the idols.
