Hawwa, Mother of humankind
In the QuranMother of humankind
Hawwaحواء
Adam's wife, created from the same soul, who lived with him in the Garden and came down with him to earth.
Allah created Adam's mate from him so he might find rest in her. They lived in the Garden and were told not to approach one tree. Shaytan whispered to both, they ate, and both turned to Allah together: our Lord, we have wronged ourselves. They were sent down to earth, forgiven, and every human descends from them.
What does the Quran say?
They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers."
Quran 7:23
