Approximate dateMadinah

An early, deeply devout believer, the first Muhajir to die and be buried at al-Baqi.

Uthman ibn Maz'un migrated to Abyssinia, then returned and gave up a pagan's protection so he could suffer with the other Muslims. He wanted to give up marriage to devote himself to worship, but the Prophet ﷺ forbade it. He died in Madinah around 625, and the Prophet ﷺ kissed him and wept.
