Fatimah bint al-Khattabفاطمة بنت الخطاب

Makkah

Umar's sister, whose courage and recitation turned her brother to Islam.

Fatimah and her husband Sa'id ibn Zayd were secret Muslims. When Umar heard and stormed into their house, he struck her, but she stood firm and told him she would never leave Islam. Shaken, Umar asked to read the page they had, verses of Surah Ta-Ha, and went from there to the Prophet ﷺ to become Muslim.

The lesson

A quiet believer's firmness can change a giant.
