Uhud, Madinah

Known as Umm Ammarah, she fought around the Prophet ﷺ at Uhud when most had scattered.

Nusaybah was one of two women at the second pledge of Aqabah. At Uhud she came to bring water, but when the line broke she took up a sword and shield to defend the Prophet ﷺ, and was wounded many times. Years later, in the battle of Yamamah, she lost a hand.
