Approximate dateDar al-Arqam, Makkah

A young convert whose house near Safa became the secret meeting place of the first Muslims.

In the hardest years in Makkah, the Prophet ﷺ taught the believers in al-Arqam's house beside Mount Safa, away from the eyes of Quraysh. Many early Muslims, by some reports Umar too, came to Islam there. Al-Arqam later fought at Badr and lived on in Madinah.
