Approximate dateKufa

A Christian prince of Tayy, son of the famously generous Hatim, who became Muslim.

Adi fled to Syria when Muslim horsemen came, but his captive sister was freed with honour and urged him to go to the Prophet ﷺ. Meeting him, Adi was struck by his humility. He was told that a woman would one day travel alone from Hira to the Kaaba in safety, and lived to see it. He stayed firm when his tribe was tempted to apostasy.
