Magna Carta

English barons force King John to seal Magna Carta, a charter that limits the king's power by law.

How it touches Islam Muslim jurists had long taught that rulers stand under the Sharia like anyone else, commanded to judge with justice (4:58).

Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due and when you judge between people to judge with justice. Excellent is that which Allah instructs you. Indeed, Allah is ever Hearing and Seeing.
