The Moriscos expelled

Spain orders out the Moriscos, descendants of Muslims forced to become Christian. About 300,000 are shipped to North Africa, and nine centuries of Islam in Spain end.

How it touches Islam Many Moriscos had kept Islam in secret for a century, writing Spanish in Arabic letters, a script called aljamiado.
