The Quran in Persian for India
In Delhi, Shah Waliullah translates the Quran into Persian, the language of educated Indians, so people can understand it and not only recite it. His sons later put it into Urdu.
How it touches Islam Deoband and many other South Asian schools trace their teachers back to him.
And We did not send any messenger except [speaking] in the language of his people to state clearly for them, and Allah sends astray [thereby] whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
Quran 14:4
