A Maliki judge whose al-Shifa, on the Prophet ﷺ, is read worldwide.

He served as judge in Ceuta and Granada and wrote on hadith and the lives of Maliki scholars. Al-Shifa sets out the Prophet's ﷺ qualities and the love and respect owed to him. After resisting the Almohads, he died in Marrakesh.
