The Quran reader of Madinah whose reading, through Warsh and Qalun, is recited across Africa.

He learned the Quran from some seventy tabi'un and led the readers of the Prophet's ﷺ Mosque for decades. Malik called his reading the Sunnah. His students Warsh and Qalun carried it to Egypt and beyond.
