The architect traditionally credited with designing the Taj Mahal.

Working for Shah Jahan, he is named by his son's writings as the designer of the Taj Mahal in Agra and the Red Fort in Delhi. The Taj's great gate carries Surah al-Fajr's call to the soul at rest to enter Paradise.
