An Ottoman clerk whose catalogue lists some 14,500 books of the Islamic world.

He served as an army clerk before giving himself to study. His Kashf al-Zunun catalogues Arabic, Persian and Turkish books by subject, and his Cihannuma is a world geography that drew on European atlases too.
