An Andalusian scholar whose tafsir draws the laws out of every verse.

Born in Cordoba, he left after the city fell to Castile in 1236 and settled in Upper Egypt. His al-Jami' li-Ahkam al-Quran discusses the rulings in each verse and the views of the schools. He also wrote al-Tadhkirah on death and the Hereafter.
