A deep valley of south Arabia, home of Hud's tomb in tradition and of Islam's seafaring scholars.
A shrine in Hadramawt is visited as the tomb of the prophet Hud. Its people joined Islam in the Prophet's ﷺ lifetime. Centuries later, scholars and traders from Tarim and other towns of Hadramawt carried Islam across the Indian Ocean to East Africa, India and the Malay world.
