Badrبدر

The wells where 313 believers met an army three times their size: the Day of the Criterion.

Badr was a watering place on the caravan road southwest of Madinah. In Ramadan 624 the Muslims faced a Makkan army of about a thousand and won; Abu Jahl was killed. The Quran calls it 'the day of criterion, the day when the two armies met' (8:41), and the people of Badr hold a rank of their own.
