The 732 battle in France that Arab historians called 'the Pavement of the Martyrs'.

In 732, somewhere between Poitiers and Tours, Charles Martel's Franks stopped a raid from al-Andalus and killed its leader, the governor Abd al-Rahman al-Ghafiqi. It marked the northern limit of Muslim armies in western Europe.
