ValleyAlso Mina, the valley of the Jamarat
Minaمنى
The tent valley east of Makkah where pilgrims stone the pillars and offer sacrifice.
Tradition places Ibrahim's sacrifice here, and the stoning of Shaytan who tried to turn him back. Pilgrims camp here in the days of Hajj, stoning the pillars and sacrificing. At al-Aqabah, at the valley's edge, men of Yathrib pledged in 621 and 622 to protect the Prophet ﷺ.
