Saba and Ma'ribسبأ ومأرب
Capital of the Queen of Sheba, whose great dam burst when her people turned ungrateful.
Saba grew rich from incense and a dam that watered 'two gardens, on the right and on the left' (34:15). The hoopoe brought Sulayman news of its queen, who came to him and submitted with him to Allah (27:44). When later generations turned away, the 'flood of the dam' scattered its tribes across Arabia (34:16).
