The sea that split for Musa and Bani Israil and closed over Firaun's army.
Musa struck the sea with his staff and it parted, each side 'like a great towering mountain' (26:63). Bani Israil crossed; Firaun followed and drowned, declaring belief only when it was too late (10:90). The Prophet ﷺ fasted on Ashura, 10 Muharram, the day of this rescue, and told Muslims to fast it.
