Tabukتبوك
The northern oasis where the Prophet ﷺ led his last expedition in the 'hour of hardship'.
In the burning summer of 630, the Prophet ﷺ led about 30,000 men here to meet a Byzantine threat that never came. The Quran calls it 'the hour of difficulty' (9:117), a test that exposed the hypocrites. Three sincere men who stayed behind, among them Ka'b ibn Malik, were forgiven after fifty days of boycott (9:118).
