Quanzhou (Zaytun)تشيوانتشو
The great medieval port Arab sailors called Zaytun.
Muslim merchants made Quanzhou their home; its Qingjing mosque dates from 1009. Tradition says two Companions of the Prophet ﷺ are buried on Lingshan hill. Ibn Battuta landed here in 1345 and called its harbour one of the greatest in the world.
