Najranنجران
A valley town of south Arabia, home of early Arab Christians and linked to the People of the Ditch.
An old centre of Arabian Christianity. Tradition links it to the People of the Ditch, believers burned alive by the Himyarite king Dhu Nuwas around 523 (85:4-8). In 631 its Christian delegation debated the Prophet ﷺ in Madinah, declined the mutual curse (3:61), and made a treaty with him.
