Palestineفلسطين
The heart of the Holy Land, between the Jordan and the sea.
Many prophets lived and preached here, from Ibrahim to Isa, and its centre is Jerusalem. The Muslims took it from Byzantium in the 630s. It was fought over in the Crusades, ruled by the Mamluks and Ottomans, and after 1917 by Britain.
